Mrs. Bunnel is a Title One Reading Teacher for USD #365. She is also a certified Reading Recovery(R) Teacher Leader working with Reading Recovery Teachers from 8 school districts in eastern Kansas. Mrs. Bunnel is a part-time Assistant Principal at Anderson County Junior Senior High School.
Mrs. Bunnel has a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education from Emporia State University, a Master of Elementary Reading from Emporia State University and a Master of Educational Leadership from Pittsburgh State University. She also has certification from Emporia State University as a Reading Recovery teacher and Teacher Leader.
This year Mrs. Bunnel is coordinating the Literacy Network of Kansas (LiNK) grant for USD #365. The Striving Readers Grant provides federal money to the states and each state awards money (LiNK) through an application process to school districts and consortiums. USD #365 is working with Greenbush on the implementation of the grant.
Mrs. Bunnel and her husband, Randy, live on a farm south of Welda. The Bunnel farm operation includes crop farming and a cow/calf herd. In her free time, Mrs. Bunnel enjoys singing with her church choir, sewing, gardening, and cooking.
Mr. & Mrs. Bunnel have two grown children, Joshua and Kelli. Joshua and his wife, Stefania, live in Corpus Christi, TX. Joshua is the Athletic Trainer for the West Oso ISD and Stefania is the school nurse at John F. Kennedy Elementary School. Daughter Kelli and her husband, Mark, live in Land O’ Lakes, FL. Mark & Kelli recently welcomed a son, Gregory. He is the Bunnel’s first grandchild!
