Reading practice at the First Grade level is very important.  Parents,please practice words from their Dolch sight word list.  It is O.K. if they sound the words out at first but eventually I want your child to be able to say all sight words quickly.  (This will help greatly with your childs reading fluency if they do not have to slow down to sound out words.)  Parents, your involvement with your child's reading progress is very important at this young age.  We know that children learn so much from the examples we set for them.  Please encourage your child to read and please read to your child.  I greatly appreciate the time you give your child at home.  It shows in our classroom.  Thank You!
