Mrs. Durand

I am excited to be teaching another year at Garnett Elementary School! I graduated from Kansas State University in 2008 with my Elementary Education degree with an emphasis in English as a Second Language. I completed my Masters degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Emporia State University in 2011. Prior to coming to Garnett I taught second grade for two years and first grade for three years in De Soto, KS. This will be my 10th year in 3rd grade and my 15th year of teaching.

I grew up in Topeka, KS and I am married to Nick Durand. We have a 8 year old son and a 5 year old son.   We also have a 3 year old daughter.  They are all blessings in our life but keep us very busy! :) In addition we have a very active yellow lab that is a big part of our family too! In my free time I enjoy camping, crafting, spending time outdoors, cheering on the K-State Wildcats and spending time with family and friends!
