WELCOME BULLPUPS!!

 

JUMP 4 HEART AT GES
THANKS to the many parents, grandparents, neighbors, and friends who donated to this year’s fundraiser.  A Special Shout out to Mrs. Martin, (GES PE teacher and J4Heart organizer),  Everett Cox (the music man) and Dawn Weirich (parent volunteer) for keeping the jumpers organized. As of March 8, over $12,000 has been collected for the American Heart Association!  WOW!

EMMA SELF wins local Flag Design Competition

BMX Assembly
GES students applauded and roared with excitement as this talented BMX duo entertained Bullpups and staff.  Thanks, PTO, for sponsoring this event.

SOPHIA JONES – Anderson County Spelling Bee Champion

Congratulations and best wishes to GES Bullpup Sophia Jones who will be representing Anderson County at the Sunflower State Spelling Bee in Wichita in March!  Also, congrats to Camryn Wilson, alternate.  Great job, bullpups!

BOOK FAIR 2018

Students enjoyed shopping and selecting books from the GES Book Fair.  Thanks to the parents, grandparents, and friends who supported our Book Fair.  Book Fair Door Contest winners are:  1st  3D;  2nd  6S;  3rd  KS.   Also thanks to Mrs. Pracht, librarian, for making this opportunity available to our school.

EARTH BALL VISITS GES

Thanks to Anderson County Soil and Conservation for bringing the awesome Earth Ball to Garnett Elementary.  Below Mrs. Durand’s class enjoys watching it blow up, and using their geography knowledge to find different countries and places.

GRADE 2 SOCIAL STUDIES

Grade 2 students have been studying about people in our community and their jobs.  Recently second graders enjoyed learning about the roles of some of the GES staff workers.

Mrs. Kim BarnesLEFT:  Mrs. Barnes tells students about her job at the front desk.  Some of her duties include taking and delivering phone messages, keeping track of attendance and helping in the first aid room,

RIGHT:  Mrs. Whitney Barnes, our school nurse, tells students about her job caring for and trying to keep all of the students in our district healthy.  She gave the students 2 tips.  Cough into your elbow and wash your hands often as flu season approaches.
